Brakes and ABS
Antilock brake systems (ABS) are an important safety feature that has become standard on most of today’s automobiles. ABS consists of two subsystems:
- All the parts of conventional brake system; pads shoes rotors and so on
- The ABS controller (computer), its associated sensors (inputs) actuators (outputs),
wiring and connectors.
The computer receives input signal from the wheel sensors which monitoring the speed of each wheel, then compares it with others wheels. If the comparison indicates wheel lockup, the computer sends commands to the valves and others actuators to raise or lower the hydraulic pressure to that wheel to prevent skid. All of this goes unnoticed by the driver unless a component fault is detected by the computer and the BRAKE or the ABS light comes on.

All vehicles built since 1994 for sale in North America use R134A refrigerant in place of the R12 refrigerant previously used in automotive A/C systems. Many things can cause this condition, but the major cause is a refrigerant leak. Fixing the problem requires finding the leak, evacuating and cleaning the system, repairing the leak and recharging the system. Transmission

- Changing manual transmission (transaxle) and differential fluid every 45,000 km.
- Changing automatic transmission fluid and filter every 80,000 km.
However automatic transmission fluid is more critical, it could break down upon harsh condition such as towing a boat.

Computerized Diagnosis:
